Maxwell T. Roy is a nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience in organizational leadership, program development, and fundraising. Currently serving as a Public Grant Writer at Sojourner Family Peace Center, Maxwell has successfully secured over $7 million in grant-based funding, including recent awards of $335,000 in Congressional funding through selection by Senator Tammy Baldwin, $114,760 in Victims of Crime Act funding, $262,000 in Wisconsin ACT 241 Domestic Violence funding, and $1.45 million through the Office on Violence Against Women’s Restorative Practices Pilot Grant.

Before joining Sojourner, Maxwell spent ten years with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington County, where he held various leadership roles, including Director of Operations from 2016-2023. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing organization-wide operations, and staff development, and helping to develop and manage an annual budget of $1.05 million budget. He played a pivotal role in securing over $2.5 million in grant-based funding for youth programs from 2016-2023, launching innovative initiatives, and increasing operational efficiency. Additionally, he took responsibility for the Club’s Annual Appeal campaign, increasing giving from $45,000 (average) before 2017 to an average of $90,000 through 2023. His leadership extended to statewide initiatives for Boys & Girls Clubs, where he served as President of the Program Committee for the Wisconsin Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs, leading efforts to enhance programming, securing significant funding increases at a state-wide level through the Wisconsin legislature, and improving outcomes for youth across 26 different Club organizations.

Maxwell holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Medical College of Wisconsin and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree with a focus on workplace well-being and leadership. His career is built on a passion for systems change, operational excellence, and community service, with proven success in driving measurable outcomes and sustainable growth across nonprofit organizations.
